Luke James Drops Seductive New Single ‘Drip’
After teasing the song on his Instagram, Luke James has officially dropped his new single “Drip.”
From starring as Johnny Gill in the highly praised film, The New Edition Story, landing a cameo in the hit comedy series Insecure, and landing a roll on the upcoming season of Star, the 33-year-old singer/songwriter has been stacking up his acting resume for the past year. Now, Luke James is back and ready to deliver some new music.
“Drip” is the first official single Luke James has released since his self-titled album debut in 2014. Over a slow yet upbeat track, packed with funky basslines and percussions, James showcases his sexy falsetto as he pleas to his lover.
“Deal with your emotion/ Dive into the ocean/ Everything is open/ You’re the one that’s chosen,” James sings. “Feeling on your booty/ But I’d rather feel your soul/ Girl I know you ain’t Janet/ But I like you in control.”
The New Orleans native produced and wrote “Drip” along with City High alum Ryan Toby, Zshakira Gray, and Anthony Clemons. It gives all the sensual, smooth, and sultry vibes your baby making playlist needs. You’ll want to repeat this track over and over again in the bedroom with your boo once your heart.
“Drip” is a strong introduction to Luke James’ much anticipated sophomore album, Joy. It offers his fans and music lovers a sneak peak of what’s to come and the direction he is going into with his music. If you think the song is sexy, just watch the lyric video on YouTube. It gives me D’Angelo “How Does It Feel” vibes.
As a Luke James fan since his mixtapes days, I must say, I am impressed with “Drip.” I can already tell Luke James is about to drop some fire on us.
Get lost in Luke James’ voice and let him serenade you with “Drip.”
“Drip” is now available on Apple Music.
